The Aotearoa Hotel Industry Conference and Exhibition (AHICE), New Zealand’s leading summit for hotel investment and operations, will return to Christchurch on 12–13 August 2025. Hosted at Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre, the event is expected to attract more than 500 key industry stakeholders including owners, operators, consultants, and suppliers from across Australasia.
The two-day programme features a mix of keynote addresses, panel discussions and networking opportunities. Speakers include the Hon. Louise Upston, Minister for Tourism and Hospitality, who will outline the government’s strategic priorities for the sector, Christchurch Mayor Phil Mauger, who will deliver the city’s official welcome, and STR’s Regional Director, Matt Burke, who will present key data trends in his session, What to Expect in 2025 and Beyond.
The agenda also includes sessions on regional development, hotel management trends, workforce strategies, design, F&B innovation and sustainability. New in 2025 is the INN Tech Hotel Technology Summit, which will spotlight the growing influence of technology in guest experience and operational efficiency. The summit includes a keynote from Andrew Cameron, CEO of Singapore-based Enzyme Consulting, alongside expert-led “power sessions” on digital transformation.
HCA Strategic Director James Doolan welcomed the return of AHICE to Christchurch, highlighting the economic and strategic value of the event. “This is a cornerstone event for New Zealand’s hotel and tourism sectors. AHICE Aotearoa brings together decision-makers and government, creating momentum for growth and delivering direct benefits to the local economy,” he said.
Now in its fourth edition, AHICE Aotearoa is firmly established as the country’s premier hotel industry gathering. It follows the highly successful AHICE Asia Pacific conference held in Adelaide in May 2025, which drew a record 1,600 delegates from over 40 countries.
