AmaWaterways reopens River of Rewards with Mekong famil on new AmaMaya

AmaWaterways has relaunched River of Rewards, its incentive program for travel advisors in Australia and New Zealand, with a seven night famil aboard its new Mekong ship AmaMaya as the reward.

The program runs from 1 October 2026 to 31 March 2027. Advisors can qualify in two ways: through eligible AmaWaterways sales, or by accumulating points across six monthly challenges. Advisors may pursue both routes.

The famil departs on 20 September 2027 and follows the Riches of the Mekong itinerary through Cambodia and Vietnam. Qualifying advisors can bring a travel companion. Shore programs include village visits and local workshops, a tuk tuk tour of Phnom Penh, a Buddhist blessing ceremony and time on the waterways of Vietnam’s Mekong Delta. AmaMaya enters service in January 2027 as the newest ship in the AmaWaterways Mekong fleet. It carries 120 guests in 60 staterooms, with Indochine inspired interiors, two dining venues, a sun deck pool, a fitness room, three massage rooms and a dedicated wellness host.

Advisors who register gain access to the monthly challenges, product training, sales resources and support from their AmaWaterways regional sales manager for the six month campaign. A live leaderboard tracks challenge standings. The 2027 edition adds more gamified challenges focused on product knowledge and on encouraging advisors to present AmaWaterways to clients, so points can be earned without relying on bookings alone.

The program returns after its first edition, which AmaWaterways managing director Australia and New Zealand Steve Richards said drew participation from hundreds of agencies, generated thousands of challenge entries and produced millions in booked revenue. That first program is a finalist in the 2026 National Travel Industry Awards.
