AmaWaterways River of Rewards trade incentive enters final week on AmaSofia Mega Famil

AmaWaterways is calling on New Zealand travel advisors to take advantage of the final days of its River of Rewards incentive, after the campaign generated record engagement across the region and reinforced strong trade appetite for river cruising into 2026.

With the promotion now in its last week, advisors are being encouraged to complete the remaining challenges for the chance to secure one of the remaining places on AmaWaterways’ 2026 Mega Famil aboard AmaSofia, sailing the Danube in August 2026. The sailing is being positioned as a standout trade famil experience, designed to deepen product knowledge and support confident selling through first-hand immersion.

“We have been absolutely delighted with the response to River of Rewards,” said Steve Richards, AmaWaterways Managing Director AU/NZ. “The level of engagement from our travel advisor partners has far surpassed what we anticipated. It’s a clear reflection of the passion and commitment within our trade community, and we’re incredibly grateful for their support.”

Richards said the Mega Famil will deliver an onboard experience that mirrors what advisors can expect their clients to enjoy. “Our Mega Famil aboard AmaSofia in August 2026 is going to be something truly special. We’re excited to bring together a group of high-achieving advisors for an immersive Danube experience filled with incredible excursions, exceptional cuisine and the warm, personalised service that defines AmaWaterways.”

Feedback from advisors throughout the campaign has also been positive, with agents noting the structure and creativity of the challenges has made participation accessible for a broad range of sellers — from seasoned river cruise specialists to those newer to the category.

For New Zealand advisors, the incentive’s momentum comes as AmaWaterways continues to back the market with hands-on trade engagement. A New Zealand trade group is set to embark on a Tulip Time sailing later in March, with additional trade groups planned for 2026, underlining the cruise line’s focus on building advocacy through immersive product exposure.

Ongoing investment in the NZ travel trade

AmaWaterways has framed the Mega Famil as part of its longer-term investment in New Zealand. Since opening its local office, the cruise line says it has hosted more than 150 travel advisors onboard through a combination of hosted and self-famil opportunities a continued push to grow awareness, capability and excitement for river cruising across the New Zealand travel trade.
