Mondrian Gold Coast makes its Australian debut

New lifestyle hotel blends elevated accommodation, culinary flair, and cultural programming on Burleigh Heads beachfront.

The highly anticipated Mondrian Gold Coast has officially opened, introducing the globally renowned lifestyle brand to Australia for the first time. Situated on the southern Gold Coast’s iconic Burleigh Heads, the 208-room hotel marks a significant addition to Queensland’s premium accommodation landscape, delivering a bold blend of design, wellness, gastronomy and cultural engagement.

Developed by Vitale Projects and designed by Fraser & Partners, Mondrian Gold Coast stands as a new landmark along the beachfront esplanade, surrounded by native pines and pandanus. The hotel comprises 132 Studios, 63 Suites, 10 residential-style homes, two luxury Beach Houses with private plunge pools, and the signature Sky House penthouse offering expansive Pacific Ocean, hinterland and Burleigh Headland views. Interiors by Los Angeles-based Studio Carter embrace a refined yet relaxed aesthetic in line with the region’s coastal energy.

Culinary offerings span two distinctive venues led by acclaimed chefs. On the ground floor, LiTO brings a vibrant Mediterranean spirit to the Australian shoreline. Head Chef Andrea Morigi (formerly of Uccello) curates a seasonally inspired Italian menu served all day from post-surf espresso to woodfired dinners within a relaxed, beachside setting conceived by Alexander &CO.

On the third floor, Haven offers a more elevated dining experience, blending local produce, seafood, and woodfire cooking under the direction of Executive Chef Aaron Teece. A dedicated agave-focused drinks menu, curated wine list, and regular live music underscore Haven’s positioning as both a culinary and social destination. The hotel’s lifestyle ethos extends beyond its restaurants. Mondrian Gold Coast houses a 24/7 Technogym fitness centre and CIEL Spa, offering advanced bio-wellness therapies, skin treatments, and a suite of restorative services from 15 June. Adjacent magnesium-rich plunge pools and a 24-metre resort-style pool enhance the wellness offering, designed for both recovery and relaxation.

For events and gatherings, the property features four levels of versatile spaces including the Mondrian Ballroom, sky-high VeeRoom, and residential venues for private functions. With 20 flexible event spaces, the hotel positions itself as a premier destination for both intimate and large-scale occasions on the Gold Coast. Staying true to the Mondrian brand’s global focus on creativity and community, the Gold Coast property will roll out a curated cultural programme spanning live music, artist residencies, and immersive guest experiences all intended to connect travellers with the local rhythm of place.

With its distinctive blend of architecture, elevated service, wellness innovation and culinary creativity, Mondrian Gold Coast sets a new benchmark for lifestyle luxury of Australia’s most iconic coastal strip.
