Tourism Australia has announced major updates on its New Zealand operations including promoting Daniel Wright as the Distribution and Partnerships Manager.
Daniel’s promotion follows the recent appointment of Tourism Australia’s Country Manager New Zealand, Edea Lu, to a new role within the business as Business Events Director Asia. Tourism Australia Executive General Manager, Commercial and Business Events, Robin Mack said with the changes in staffing in New Zealand he was delighted to be promoting Daniel to this key role as distribution and Partnerships Manager.
“Dan has made a tremendous contribution to our Aussie Specialist Program as a trainer in New Zealand during the past three years, having built strong relationships with our network of travel advisers in what is Australia’s largest source market for visitors,” Mr Mack said. “We look forward to seeing further great work as Dan steps in full time to the partnership and distribution role.
Mr Mack also added that in a further change, Dan and his team will now report to Chris Allison, based in Tourism Australia’s Los Angeles office. Chris will now take on strategic responsibility for the New Zealand market, in addition to his existing responsibilities for North America, to become Regional General Manager Americas and New Zealand.
Chris Allison said he was delighted to have the opportunity to lead the team.
“Having previously worked with New Zealand market prior to joining Tourism Australia, I am delighted to have the opportunity to lead the team in supporting the continuation of our strong trade and distribution partnerships from our largest inbound visitor market”, said Chris.
Daniel Wright said, “We have a tremendous distribution network in New Zealand that has been built around our incredible community of Aussie Specialist Program agents and their passion and commitment to selling Australia. I am so looking forward to growing our in-market team and building upon these foundations to strengthen the distribution and partnership opportunities for Australia.”
