British Airways Unveils Major Loyalty Programme Revamp for 2025

British Airways has announced a significant rebranding of its loyalty programme, now called The British Airways Club.

The changes, effective from April 1, 2025, aim to enhance flexibility and reward frequent flyers across more touchpoints, including flights, holiday packages, and ancillary spend unlocking exciting new ways to earn Tier Points and unlock rewards.

Under the revamped system, members will earn Tier Points based on the cost of their flight and ancillary purchases like seat selection and excess baggage, at a rate of 1 Tier Point per £1 of eligible spend. Tier thresholds have been recalibrated to align with the new model. Additionally, members will earn Tier Points by contributing to Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF), with a cap of up to 1,000 Tier Points annually, while Avios can also be used to support SAF contributions.

British Airways Holidays will introduce limitless Tier Point earning opportunities, building on the success of its double Tier Points promotion. Members will earn points based on the total cost of their holiday packages, making it easier to achieve elite status in fewer trips.

Later in 2025, members can also look forward to earning up to 2,500 Tier Points through BA American Express Premium Plus card spending. The programme will further introduce milestone rewards between Tiers, such as bonus Avios at key points within Bronze and Silver membership, with more benefits to be announced. The changes follow last year’s update to Avios collection, which shifted to a spend-based model, resulting in 70% of members earning the same or more Avios. The British Airways Club will come with a refreshed look and feel, solidifying its position as a leading loyalty programme for modern travellers.
