Ponant Yachting expands with new brand and catamaran

Ponant Explorations Group has unveiled Ponant Yachting, a new brand dedicated to exclusive small-scale sailing experiences, alongside the announcement of a second catamaran, the Spirit of Ponant II, which will join the fleet in late 2026.

The new vessel, built in France by Lagoon as part of its EIGHTY 2 series, will be based in French Polynesia. Operated by a four-person crew, the catamaran will accommodate 9–12 guests and feature tailored itineraries, refined gastronomy, curated wine lists, and a full suite of water sports including paddleboarding, snorkelling and wing foiling.

By 2026, Ponant Yachting will operate three catamarans, Spirit of Ponant, La Désirade and Spirit of Ponant II across destinations such as the Mediterranean, Seychelles, Caribbean and Polynesia. The concept is designed to attract family groups and friends seeking an ultra-intimate, all-inclusive voyage with access to secluded anchorages.

“This strategy is embodied in the launch of our new brand, Ponant Yachting, which combines the intimate experience of sailing with the sophisticated and personalised services of Ponant voyages,” said Hervé Gastinel, CEO of Ponant Explorations Group. “With the acquisition of the Spirit of Ponant II, the 22nd ship in the fleet, we are expanding our offering in the luxury sailing segment for intimate, sophisticated and responsible voyages”.

The project further strengthens partnerships between Ponant Explorations Group, Lagoon, Bénéteau Group and Sailoé, aligning French design, shipbuilding expertise and a commitment to more sustainable tourism.

Ponant Yachting joins the Group’s existing portfolio, which includes Ponant Explorations, Paul Gauguin Cruises and Aqua Expeditions.
