Flight Centre Travel Group NZ confirms new country leadership model

Flight Centre Travel Group New Zealand has introduced a new country leadership structure, appointing a Country Leader and Deputy Country Leader from within its existing leadership team.

Heidi Walker has been appointed Country Leader for FCTG New Zealand, alongside her role as General Manager of the Flight Centre brand in New Zealand. Walker will oversee countrywide collaboration across FCTG’s NZ brands and lead initiatives across the wider business.

Heidi brings more than 25 years’ experience within FCTG, beginning in the supply business at Ticket Centre before moving into retail as an Area Leader. She later held senior People & Culture leadership roles, before returning to lead the Flight Centre brand as General Manager.

“We have a great team here in New Zealand. Our passionate people and strong sense of team pride have always been what makes FCTG NZ special. I’m excited by the opportunity to lead our New Zealand community and work collaboratively across our brands to continue to deliver exceptional travel experiences that matter to Kiwis,” says Heidi.

Terrence Blokker

Terence Blokker has been named Deputy Country Leader FCTG New Zealand in addition to his current position as New Zealand Chief Financial Officer. Blokker will focus on cross-brand alignment, with an emphasis on governance, compliance and community engagement. Terence has spent 25 years with FCTG across New Zealand and South Africa, with experience spanning Retail, Supply and GBS divisions, and a range of finance and retail leadership roles. He currently serves as CFO for New Zealand.

“I’m grateful for the opportunity to take on the additional role of Deputy Country Leader, supporting our FCTG New Zealand community and our people as we progress together through 2026 and beyond”, said Terrence

“New Zealand is an incredibly important market for Flight Centre Travel Group, with a proud history, strong brands and exceptional people. We’re delighted to appoint Heidi and Terence into these roles – two highly respected leaders with deep experience and a genuine passion for our teams, brands and customers. Their leadership gives us great confidence and real brightness for the future of FCTG New Zealand,” said Flight Centre Travel Group Managing Director Graham Turner.

The dual-role model aligns with FCTG’s shift towards a brand-led structure and is designed to support collaboration across the group’s New Zealand portfolio, while both leaders continue in their current positions.
