From 1 October 2025, Delhi International Airport has rolled out an E-Arrival Card system for foreign travellers, replacing the current paper-based arrival cards. Operated by GMR Airports in partnership with India’s Bureau of Immigration, the initiative aims to streamline immigration clearance, reduce queues, and support sustainability goals by cutting paper use.
The digital platform will allow arriving passengers to submit their arrival details electronically up to three days before travel, via multiple channels: the Bureau of Immigration website, the Indian Visa portal, the “Su-Swagatam” mobile app, and the official Delhi Airport website.
By digitising arrival cards, the authorities expect faster processing at immigration counters, shorter wait times, and improved passenger experience, particularly during peak travel periods. The move further aligns Delhi with other global hubs in Asia, such as Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, South Korea and Indonesia, which already offer comparable digital immigration facilities.
