Expedia TAAP expands global features for travel advisors including agency service charge

Expedia TAAP has announced a series of enhancements designed to give travel advisors greater flexibility, efficiency, and earning potential when managing client booking benefiting agents across all 34 of its global markets, including New Zealand.

Key among the updates is an extension of the popular “book now, pay later” feature. Travel advisors can now defer client payments for hotel bookings up to 365 days in advance an increase from the previous 280-day limit. This allows agents to secure early-bird deals and long-lead bookings without requiring immediate payment, improving cash flow and client planning options.

Additionally, Expedia TAAP has introduced a new Hard Change functionality that enables advisors to make post-booking changes on deferred payment reservations for the first time. Changes such as travel dates, room type or occupancy can now be handled directly in-platform, removing the need to cancel and rebook saving time and streamlining the booking process.

Further enhancing advisor earning potential, the Agency Service Charge feature already seeing strong uptake is now available in over 20 markets including Australia, the UK, Canada, and the UAE. This function enables agents to apply a discretionary service fee of up to 30% of the total lodging booking value within the Expedia TAAP platform, allowing them to be fairly compensated for the time and expertise they offer clients.
