Singapore Airlines is embarking on an ambitious S$1.1 billion, multi-year program to upgrade its long-haul cabin products across 41 Airbus A350-900 aircraft, including both long-haul and ultra-long-range (ULR) variants.
This significant investment reflects SIA’s commitment to offering an exceptional in-flight experience across all cabin classes, with a particular focus on First and Business Class innovations.

First Class:
- First Class cabins will debut on seven Airbus A350-900ULR aircraft, catering to ultra-long-haul routes.

Business Class
- All 41 A350 aircraft will feature new Business Class seats with innovative designs that increase privacy, comfort, and convenience.
- These seats will align with the same design approach planned for SIA’s upcoming Boeing 777-9 aircraft.
Premium Economy and Economy Class cabins will undergo a refresh to enhance comfort and elevate the travel experience for all customers. A newly enhanced KrisWorld IFE system will provide greater personalisation and an array of lifestyle options across all cabin classes. First and Business Class seats will feature advanced entertainment screens for a more immersive experience.
Milestones and Timelines:
- Retrofits are set to begin in Singapore, with the first A350-900 long-haul aircraft entering service by Q2 2026, and the first A350-900ULR variant by Q1 2027.
- A350-900 Long-Haul: 42 Business Class, 24 Premium Economy, and 192 Economy seats.
- A350-900ULR: Four First Class, 70 Business Class, and 58 Premium Economy seats.
SIA’s CEO, Mr. Goh Choon Phong emphasized the airline’s dedication to customer experience. “The S$1.1 billion investment in retrofitting our A350 fleet underscores our commitment to delivering unparalleled service and innovation.
