The Lake Como EDITION brings new-era luxury to Italy’s iconic shoreline

Marriott’s EDITION brand is set to redefine Lake Como’s luxury landscape with The Lake Como EDITION, a contemporary 148-room retreat in Cadenabbia that blends design-driven hospitality, serious culinary credentials and next-generation wellness on one of Italy’s most coveted shorelines. The property is currently in preview ahead of its grand opening in March 2026.

Developed in partnership with Omnam Investment Group and Bain Capital, the hotel occupies a 19th-century palazzo on the lake’s western shore, directly facing Bellagio and sitting on the scenic Lake Como Greenway. The heritage façade has been restored, while interiors by Neri&Hu and De.Tales, together with EDITION’s creative team, deliver a modern Italian aesthetic: terrazzo floors, marble archways, lush vertical gardens and a series of dramatic social spaces anchored by a grand Lobby Bar and lakeside terraces.

The hotel offers 148 rooms, including 25 suites, two penthouses and nine additional rooms in Villa Gina next door. Custom furnishings, Calacatta marbles and restored French balconies in lakeside rooms emphasise a calm, residential feel for high-end leisure and short-haul luxury clients.

Culinary positioning is a major pillar. Three-Michelin-starred chef Mauro Colagreco (Mirazur, Menton) oversees four concepts, including the signature restaurant Cetino, all-day dining venue Renzo, a poolside Mediterranean restaurant and a Riviera-inspired Lobby Bar. Each aims to reinterpret Italian flavours through Colagreco’s “nature-first” lens, giving agents a strong gastronomic story for food-motivated travellers.

On the water, the hotel features a floating pool on Lake Como with its own restaurant and lounge bar, cabanas and loungers. A private dock, EDITION’s own boat fleet and direct access to the public ferry network reinforce the property’s positioning as both a serene base and a highly connected hub for lake touring.

Wellness is elevated through The Longevity SPA, EDITION’s second in Italy in partnership with The Longevity Suite Group. The facility combines biohacking-style therapies, thermal experiences, an indoor pool, extensive relaxation terraces and a full Technogym-equipped fitness centre, targeting guests for whom longevity and performance are part of the luxury proposition.

For the meetings and incentives market, The Lake Como EDITION offers two meeting studios within the spa complex, designed for retreats and executive gatherings that pair boardroom time with high-impact scenery and lifestyle programming.

For the trade, the opening adds a strong new-build lifestyle luxury option to Lake Como – one that marries EDITION’s global brand recognition with a very local sense of place, and offers clear hooks for design, dining, wellness and small-group events.
