Truffle Kerfuffle returns from 28 to 30 June 2024, held in the heart of Australian truffle country
Manjimup, a 3.5-hour drive south of Perth in Western Australia’s Southern Forests, is the most prolific truffle growing region in the Southern Hemisphere, producing about 85 per cent of all black truffles grown in Australia and fetching prices as high as $3,000 per kilogram.
With truffles at the centre of the weekend festival along with the region’s prized produce, from apples to potatoes, and 50 other kinds of fruit and vegetables, Truffle Kerfuffle is the ultimate winter escape for food lovers. Imagine candlelit long table feasts, decadent dishes laden with freshly harvested black truffle, intimate fireside cooking masterclasses with acclaimed chefs, truffle dog demonstrations and truffle hunts in orchards, an undercover marketplace brimming with locally grown produce and delicious morsels, wine sessions and spirit tastings, free cooking demonstrations and more.
Deputy Premier and Minister for Tourism Rita Saffioti has welcomed the return of Truffle Kerfuffle and said it was a key event in the gourmet food calendar. “Truffle Kerfuffle is a true regional food festival centred around Manjimup’s prized truffles, providing a platform for the rest of the Southern Forests produce to be promoted and enjoyed by the thousands of visitors to the region,” Minister Saffioti said.
