Virgin Voyages is set to launch its first themed “True Crime Voyage” this October, in collaboration with iHeartPodcasts, bringing immersive podcast programming to sea for the first time.
Departing Miami on 10 October aboard Valiant Lady, the five-night Dominican Daze itinerary will feature live recordings, behind-the-scenes workshops, and exclusive meet-and-greets with hosts of popular podcasts including Betrayal, Buried Bones, and Stuff They Don’t Want You to Know. The cruise blends Virgin’s award-winning, adults-only cruise experience with Halloween-themed programming and true crime storytelling.
Nicole Huang, SVP of Fleet Experiences at Virgin Voyages, described the initiative as “a mysterious and glamorous twist” on the cruise line’s entertainment offering. “This True Crime Voyage blends the intrigue of storytelling with the indulgence of elevated travel,” she said.
The itinerary includes port calls in Puerto Plata and Virgin’s private Beach Club at Bimini, offering a sun-soaked contrast to the darker onboard theme. Guests can expect costume parties, bar crawls, themed cocktails, and a special edition of Virgin’s signature Scarlet Night.
Themed entertainment aside, the sailing continues to offer Virgin Voyages’ signature proposition of high-end dining, wellness experiences, and sophisticated onboard programming. The launch also marks the first in a series of genre-driven cruises tailored to modern traveller interests across true crime, music, comedy, and wellness.
The sailing is expected to appeal to fans of true crime culture, podcast enthusiasts, and travellers looking for a distinctive seasonal cruise experience.
