Webjet CEO Katrina Barry resigns

Webjet Group has announced the resignation of Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Katrina Barry, marking a leadership change at the ASX-listed online travel group less than two years after the separation of its consumer business from Web Travel Group.

Barry joined Webjet Limited as a non-executive director in 2022 before stepping into the CEO role for the Webjet B2C business in June 2024, at a critical point for the company’s restructure. Following the demerger approved in September 2024, she led the newly formed Webjet Group as it established its standalone position on the ASX and sharpened its strategic direction.

In its statement, Webjet said the board would now begin a search for Barry’s successor. She will remain with the business through the transition and until the completion of the company’s full-year results in May 2026.

Chairman Don Clarke credited Barry with steering the business through the demerger and ASX listing, as well as shaping a new five-year strategic roadmap focused on brand, marketing and technology capability. Barry, in her own statement, said it had been a “true privilege” to lead the group through a transformative period and pointed to progress across strategy, brand revitalisation, profitability in the New Zealand business units, and the ongoing evolution of technology and business travel platforms
